back to basics
Simplifying complexity in design is the ultimate challenge. Whether it is a web site, corporate literature, or documentation, the same principle apply: the simpler the design, the better experience of the user and the more likely they are to understand what you want them to know. But simplifying complexity is also the most difficult of things to master because it involves real understanding of both the subject matter and the audience. With no fancy bells or whistles to hide behind and no jargon to cover up inconsistencies and lack of knowledge, the right approach, skill, and understanding is what separates a great design from a mundane one, not smoke and mirrors.
